A Romantic Wedding in August


This beautiful wedding located in the Coeur d' Alene Resort in Downtown Coeur d' Alene was a perfect mix of timeless elegance and authentic love. I had the pleasure of taking Camryn and Dominic's engagement pictures several months prior to their wedding, and I enjoyed their wedding just as much. The wedding day was full of beautiful moments and personal touches, with plenty of romance sprinkled in. 


Getting Ready


The day started with taking getting ready photos of the girls, and formal images of the men. The girls got ready in a room upstairs that was connected to the room that the guys got ready in by a balcony. This made it easy for everyone to travel between as needed for getting things ready, exchanging food, and for the first look, which took place on that balcony. After a minor dress mishap, we quickly moved into the first look where Camryn and Dominic retreated to get ready for the ceremony.


The Ceremony


The ceremony faced Coeur d Alene Lake, letting in natural sunshine and beautiful views. A beautiful flower arch waited at the end of the aisle. It was so special to have the ceremony facing the lake where you could see boats going by, perfectly encapsulating that summery, August wedding feeling. After the ceremony, we went through the Resort to get couples portraits outside and in the elevators. It was so fun to walk through the lobby and have strangers congratulating them on their marriage and celebrating with them. An added note, the elevator pictures are some of my favorite pictures taken to this day.


The Reception


Once they made their grand entrance as a married couple, cocktail hour was in full effect, followed by dinner, complimentary of the Coeur d' Alene Resort. Once dinner had concluded, speeches and a bouquet dedication to the mother of the bride followed. The first dance came after, between the bride and groom, the bride and her father, and the groom and his mother. After the cake cutting, the dance floor opened up, and the group started to party. The whole day was so special, surrounded by the people they loved that had gathered to celebrate their union.


Planning a wedding?


The Coeur d' Alene Resort was a beautiful venue and provided many creative photo opportunities that I was happy to take advantage of.  If you are considering having your wedding at the Coeur d' Alene Resort, there are a few things to think about. The Resort has several different venue opportunities, from hosting it at the actual Resort itself, on one of the boats, and at the Hagadone Event Center. What you choose will depend on your vision for your wedding day. The resort itself was a beautiful space that had many places available for pictures and hosting, which does give some freedom to making your day perfect.
